Managed by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC), GPES is a new, centrally managed extraction service that will allow data to be extracted from GP practice systems across England for specific purposes to support better patient care. It is supported by strict governance procedures.
Extracting data for the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) to support payments to GP practices was the first major project using the new service.
Matt Murphy, Managing Director of EMIS, said: “This is the first data extraction EMIS has conducted under GPES and I am delighted to report such a high success rate.
“We have been working jointly with the HSCIC to help resolve any issues for the small number of practices that have not been able to submit their results. The final extract to resolve these issues is imminent.”
