In a statement to the City from EMIS Group plc today (12 July 2013) at 30 June 2013:
- 2,580 GP practices were live with EMIS Web, an increase of 945 compared with 1,635 at 31 December 2012.
- There were 948 unfulfilled orders for EMIS Web GP and 1,663 GP practices in the Familiarisation Service.
Following the announced withdrawal of CSC’s iSoft from the UK primary care market, 174 former iSoft practices have migrated to EMIS during the first half of the year and the Group expects to win approximately two-thirds of the iSoft estate. A number of the iSoft practices are in Wales where NHS Wales has begun rolling out a centrally hosted IT service to its GPs with the first EMIS Web practice going live in June 2013.
The trading statement also announced that the renewal of the English GP Systems of Choice (GPSoC) Framework was progressing as expected.
Chris Spencer, CEO, said:
“The first half of 2013 continued to be very busy for EMIS Group. We maintained the pace of the roll-out to GPs of EMIS Web, our transformational healthcare system… [and] the effect of the NHS reorganisation, which took place on 1 April, has been as expected.
“We were encouraged by recent comments by Jeremy Hunt, the Health Secretary, when he said that we need to work differently to respond to the changing needs of the population and that means making joined-up services the norm, not the exception. EMIS continues to be uniquely placed to deliver this vision.”
