Pamela Hebditch, programme manager, explains: “One of our patients is wheelchair bound and has agoraphobia. We had not been able to screen him for years. The patient had spoken with his GP to get some calming medication and spoken to us about the situation.
“We planned ahead to ensure that the patient had an anxiety-free experience. Every step of the way our staff were with him to alleviate his fears and make him feel safe.
“He was so happy to have attended that he said he would be back the following year.”
